These ten Tibetan sutras with parallels in the Pali canon of texts are often used used in protection (paritta) ceremonies. Volume 1 contains text in Pali and Sanskrit language.rnrnThe Mahasutras are a group of important texts found in both the Pali and Tibetan Canons. In Theravada Buddhist countries they are usually recited to bring on good fortune and to ward off bad influences. In the Tibetan Canon they are usually classed as falling within the Hinayana sutra sub division in the sutra section.
