This is a source book of one school of Mahayana philosophy. The original is Sanskrit and each section is followed by an English translation. The terms of Buddhism are pretty standardized. That is, you can find the same English word used the same way in various texts by various translators. This translator knows nothing of this. Her English is not clear and it takes repeated reading just to get the plain sense of the text. Sometimes even repeated readings do not clear up the issue.rnrnThe most I got out of the text is that it is pretty consistent with later texts presenting Mahayana thought. Read Atisha's Lamp on the Path of Enlightenment or Gampopa's Jewel Ornament. These texts cover the same ground and are translated more clearly.
